Executive summary

The existing event setup makes resourceful use of the kitchen as a temporary stage: the central island rolls away and a podium, chairs, or sofa moves into its place. The room already has architectural character, audience seating, projection, and event audio, but recordings currently depend on mixed ambient light, overhead cans, sconces, daylight, and projector spill. This produces inconsistent skin tones, uneven faces, harsh top shadows, and a visually busy kitchen background.

The recommended upgrade has two coordinated parts:

1. A retractable oatmeal curtain behind the structural columns, spanning slightly beyond the kitchen/stage zone. It closes to create a calm, acoustically softer recording background and stacks neatly out of the way during the workday.
2. A portable two-light recording kit with soft bi-color cross-keys on stands. The lights come out only for events, use app control, and store in bags during the workday—avoiding permanent rigging, new wiring and specialist integration.

• Make speakers’ faces consistently flattering and camera-ready across the full presentation area.
• Create a composed, neutral background that hides kitchen equipment during events.
